Update 9th February

New Headteacher Introduction

Dear Parents and Carers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to thank Mr Tailor for all his incredible work over the last three years at Brakenhale School.

I feel hugely privileged to have been appointed as your Headteacher, to work with the wonderful staff body, to build upon the success of Mr Tailor. We will continue to ensure your children receive an excellent educational provision that improves year on year. As a parent to  three young children, I know how important it is to build relationships with parents and carers and look forward to meeting you over the coming weeks.

I originate from Skegness where I completed my formal education and developed a strong work ethic, working weekends, holidays and evenings at various seaside kiosks. I went on to study at Durham University before taking a Teach First route into teaching. I have spent the majority of my career in inner London schools. I pride myself in doing whatever it takes to ensure young people have lives of choice and opportunity, and this is something that drives my ambition for your child. I have had the privilege of serving young people and staff as a senior leader for over 11 years.

I joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust in September 2022, as Deputy Headteacher at Park House School in Newbury, and am delighted to be continuing to work within the Greenshaw family. This has helped to ensure a smooth transition and again, I’d like to thank Mr Tailor for his support with this.

I hope you and your children have a wonderful half-term and look forward to welcoming all children back on Monday 19th February.

Yours faithfully, Camilla Douglas
