Cadet STEM Day at Sandhurst

Our cadets had the incredible opportunity to attend the Military International Drone Racing Tournament at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. It was a day packed with innovation, excitement, and inspiration!
The cadets watched in awe as top drone pilots from 10 different countries raced at high speed through challenging obstacle courses. They also had the chance to try their hand at drone simulators, explore different race tracks, and even learn about drone-building from some of the army’s leading technology specialists.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Major Andrew Knight, a high- ranking army officer — and former Brakenhale student! It was an honour to hear his story and see how far a Brakenhale education can take you.
Our cadets also got a taste of Sandhurst life, enjoying a first-class lunch in the Officers’ Mess, complete with everything from spicy Mexican chicken and traditional fish & chips to fresh salads, vegetables, and fruit. The weather was glorious, and the atmosphere across the site was buzzing with energy.
The experience of being among both army and navy officers at such a special location was truly inspiring. We feel privileged to have been part of this unique STEM day and proud that the event was linked to one of our very own Brakenhale alumni.
