2024 Results
 
A-Levels

Brakenhale A-level students have a great deal to celebrate this year.  Many students have secured places at Russell Group Universities, such as Warwick, Sheffield, and Southampton. Applied general qualification results are particularly impressive with an average Grade of a B-. Overall, A-level students achieved an average grade of a C-. 

Some notable achievements. Rory C received AAB in History, Religious Studies, and Computer Science, he is going on to study History and Philosophy at the University of Warwick.  Brian C achieved  5 A-levels! ABBBC in Chinese, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology, he has secured a place at the University of Southampton to study Biomedical Sciences.Sam C achieved A* Distinction C in Criminology, ICT, and Business. Sam will be studying Law at the University of Sheffield.Sandia L received A*BBD in Italian, English, Photography, and French. Sandia has been successful in securing a place at the University of Warwick to study English Literature.

Students also secured impressive apprenticeship places.  Callum D will complete an apprenticeship in chartered accounting  with KPMG and Edward B has secured an apprenticeship with South Western Rail.

GCSEs

GCSE students have a great deal to celebrate at Brakenhale this year with attainment increasing significantly.  59% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and maths and 43% achieved a Grade 5+ in English and maths. 69% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in English and 65% in Maths. Languages students achieved particularly impressive results, significantly above national average.

Here are some highlights of standout student performances:

Jaden L achieved a total of 9 Grade 9s and a Grade 8

Abigail R achieved 7 Grade 9s, the highest possible grade in BTec Sport (Distinction*) and a Grade 7 in English Literature

Scarlett T achieved 4 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s and an excellent Grade 6 in Physics

Arthur S achieved 3 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8’s and all other grades 5 or over
