Brakenhale School

Sports & PE update

Sports Leaders

This term the sports leaders have been working hard on Everlearner completing their training and preparation for our sports leader events. Everlearner gives them an overview of the skills, characteristics and attributes needed to be a great sports leader. It also gives them lessons on how to interact and communicate with younger pupils which has helped to see them flourish at our first main event.

This term we took 19 sports leaders to Birch Hill Astro to run a Rugby Megafest to 17 primary schools across Bracknell Forest. The leaders worked in pairs and small groups to run an activity which focused on developing a particular rugby skill. They worked tirelessly all day to keep spirits up and created a really friendly and comfortable environment for the primary school pupils.

They received lots of compliments throughout the day for their wonderful conduct and their fantastic ability to speak and interact with the pupils. The primary schools had a great day because of our leaders and I think despite being exhausted at the end of the day, the leaders also had a fantastic time.

They represented Brakenhale impeccably and really demonstrated our values highly all day!! Well done sports leaders!

Later this year we have 2 indoor athletics events and an outdoor athletics event that we will be taking our sports leaders to. Plus hopefully some sports days at our feeder schools! We are so excited to see how they develop at these events!
