New Exploring Art, Design and Making Across KS3Story

Year 7 - Students have been looking at the work of Miro, creating their own characters and painting them with watercolour paints. They will be taking these into individual textile pieces this term, using felt and hand stitching which we look forward to.

Year 8 have been studying work from a range of street artists from around the world, creating their own colourful and individual inspired art pieces using a choice of watercolour paints, coloured pencils or pens. These pieces have inspired textile pieces that students are beginning to work on currently too.

Year 9 have been studying perspective drawing skills and some illusion drawings. They have created some great pieces using 1 point, 2 point & 5 point perspective so far. Students have then enjoyed making a tie-dyed phone bean bag, which they decorated with their own designs inspired by the theme of perspective, before sewing them using the machines. It has been really great to see students sharing their skills in helping others with the sewing machines to produce some eye-catching and individual pieces.
