“Hooked” Workshop Highlights the Risks of Vaping
On Monday 23rd March, Year 8 and 9 students took part in an engaging and thought-provoking performance workshop titled Hooked, which explored the risks of vaping and nicotine addiction.
The session combined live performance with interactive, workshop-based learning. The actors brought relatable characters and scenarios to life, which were carefully linked to the scientific facts behind nicotine use and the social pressures young people can face.
At the start, some students were unsure how to respond to the performance. However, as it progressed, their engagement grew noticeably. Students became increasingly involved, responding confidently to questions about the characters, the situations presented, and the wider issues surrounding vaping and addiction.
Overall, the session was both informative and impactful. It provided students with a clear understanding of the risks associated with vaping, while encouraging them to think critically about peer pressure and decision-making. It is certainly a session that will stay with them.
