Exploring Famous Artists and Bold New Styles in KS3 Art & Textiles

This term, Year 7 students have been busy developing their portrait skills and combining them with abstract art using zentangles. We have also explored a number of famous portraits, with students creating their own imaginative interpretations of the Mona Lisa, Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Birth of Venus.
Year 8 students have been practising a range of funky graffiti styles while exploring the work of Banksy and Romero Britto. Using this inspiration, they have designed fabrics and prints for their pencil case projects.
Year 9 students are currently creating some brilliant food-themed pieces inspired by Ron Magnes and Lucy Sparrow. Alongside this, they have been developing their realistic colouring skills by layering coloured pencil to create colour-in-tone effects in the style of Joel Penkman and Sarah Evans.
