Brakenhale School Celebrates Excellent A-Level Success as Average Grades Rise and Record Numbers Secure Top University Places

Students, staff, and families at Brakenhale School are in high spirits as they celebrate an outstanding set of A-level results, with the school's average grade rising significantly; the percentage of A*-B grades almost doubling to 43%; and students securing places at leading universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
In a tremendous year for academic performance, 56% of students going to university have secured places at top-tier UK institutions (ranked in the top third nationally), demonstrating the incredible ambition, talent, and work ethic of this cohort.
Students are set to progress to some of the country’s most prestigious higher education institutions to study a wide variety of competitive and groundbreaking courses. Highlights among this year’s top achievers include:
- Hashem, who will be studying Construction Management at UCL.
- Alex, who is heading to the University of Surrey to study Physics with Nuclear Astrophysics.
- Natalia, who has secured a place at King’s College London to read Biomedical Science.
- Mindy, who will be taking up a place at the University of Bristol to study Chemical Physics.
- Ciara, who is off to Cardiff University to study Law with Politics and International Relations.
- Alfie, who is heading to Newcastle University to study Mathematics.
- Shreya, who will be studying Applied Psychology at the University of Reading.
- Amber, who is going to Royal Holloway, University of London to study Computer Science.
- Alisha, who has secured a place at the University of Birmingham to study Sports Science.
Beyond those entering higher education, students across the year group are embarking on high-quality apprenticeships and exciting workforce placements.
