Update 14th September

Ofsted Visit
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope this finds you well.
Yesterday (Tuesday 13th September), a team of Ofsted Inspectors visited the school for the day. They were here all day and had a series of meetings with staff, students and senior leaders, walked the buildings and into lessons and looked through documents and policies. I met with them throughout the day and at the end; the outcome has been very pleasing. I will receive a letter with the findings of their visit and share it with you in due course. This will be in a few weeks from now.
As a reminder, students will finish at 13.10 tomorrow (Thursday 15th) as we have our Open Evening. Students return at the usual time on Friday (16th).
To mark our respects on the day of the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, our school will be closed on Monday 19th September.
Finally, all students have been given a student planner this year. This is something they did not have last year but we have chosen to do so this year. It serves multiple purposes: you can add a note which your child(ren) can relay to the Tutor/teachers; it can be used to note down homework that is issued; it has a series of pages with key information for different subjects; there is a whiteboard on the back page which is utilised in lessons; it has double-page spread so students can write their timetable, and much more. I hope this helps them.
Kind regards
Mr B Tailor, Headteacher
