We had the privilege of taking our Year 10 and 12 Geographers on an equally educational and exciting trip to Swanage Bay to complete fieldwork for their GCSE and A Level courses. Whilst there, the Year 12 completed specialist fieldwork as the Year 10 students investigated the physical Geography of the area by studying the effectiveness of coastal management by completing detailed field sketches and measuring the groynes along the beach. Following this, students investigated the economic opportunities and challenges in the town through environmental quality assessments, pedestrian counts and mood maps. Some were even completing questionnaires with members of the public! They have all collected some wonderful data that will aid in their understanding of their Paper 3.
