Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

Twenty of our students recently took on the challenge of completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, beginning with a full day of training. During this session, they learned essential skills such as map reading, route planning, campcraft, and teamwork, preparing them for the adventure ahead.
The following two days saw the students embark on their expedition, setting off from Ashen Plain Campsite in Dursley. They navigated a variety of checkpoints across challenging terrain, carrying all their equipment and supporting each other along the way. The journey tested their physical stamina, problem-solving, and resilience, and they rose to every challenge with determination and positivity.
Completing both the training and the expedition is a fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud of the commitment, teamwork, and perseverance shown by all the students. Their success is a true reflection of the values at the heart of the Duke of Edinburgh programme.
We look forward to celebrating with them as they officially receive their Bronze Award certificates and badges. Congratulations to all involved, you have achieved something truly special!
