KS3 3D Design Projects

Year 7 3D Design
Our Year 7 3D Design students have been enjoying researching Piet Mondrian’s abstract paintings to first create an artist copy, then develop a series of thumbnail sketches of their own original clock designs, inspired and informed by the Neoplasticism style. Once their own designs have been resolved they will complete the project next year by making a final product in the workshop, using a range of modelling materials, tools and techniques.
Year 8 3D Design
Our Year 8 3D design students have been researching the Cubist Art movement, with a focus on the portraiture of one of Cubism’s founders, Pablo Picasso. Artist copies have been created, with 3D versions of their drawings made using paper templates and cardboard. Next year, they will develop this idea further, making final 3D products using a range of recycled plastic, wood, found materials and even LED lights.
