It has been a very busy and productive term for our Eco Council. They have been using our amazing cutting-edge granulator and heat press machines in G03 to recycle waste any plastic generated from our school, including bottle lids, whiteboard marker pens, and even old/broken computer keyboards!

The process involves sorting through all waste plastic disposed of in our special collection banks and also collecting any broken and unusable equipment from students in lessons.

The granulated plastic is then transformed into sheets of reusable plastic material, used for our 3D Design projects and also to make keyrings, rulers and other useful components.

During our weekly meetings we have also been discussing the Eco Council’s detailed plans to develop our green areas around the school site.

Our first ‘Bug Favela’ was also installed outside our 3D Design workshop, providing a nesting location for pollinators and other insects.
