A New Creative Adventure Every Friday This Term at South Hill Park Arts Centre

We’re excited to say that 11–17 Fridays are back for this final half-term!

Every Friday during term-time, we’ll be welcoming a different guest tutor and working professional to lead a fun, beginner-friendly creative workshop — all for just £1 per session.

These relaxed drop-in sessions are designed as taster workshops, giving young people the chance to:
  • Try something new
  • Make friends
  • Build confidence
  • Develop creative skills in a supportive environment
No experience is needed at all — every session is suitable for beginners.

Sessions can be paid for by cash or card on the door, and a quick medical form must be completed before taking part.

If participants are of secondary school age or younger, they must be dropped off by a parent or carer.

You do not need to attend every week — you can simply choose the sessions that interest you most and drop in whenever you like.

We also now have a sign-up form available here:

Walk-ins are still absolutely welcome, but if you would like to guarantee a space, we strongly recommend signing up in advance. Spaces are limited to 30 participants per session and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Upcoming Sessions:
  • Friday 5th June – Shakespeare with Zensi Alleyne (Coach House)
  • Friday 12th June – Musical Theatre with Emma Houghton (Dance Studio)
  • Friday 19th June – Drama Workshop with Keir Buist (Coach House)
  • Friday 26th June – Creative Writing with Jess Spath (Coach House)
  • Friday 3rd July – Sports Day with Ben Mitchell (Coach House)
We also wanted to be honest and share that numbers for the programme are currently very low. Unfortunately, if attendance does not improve, we may have to consider cutting or cancelling 11–17 after this term.

As a charity, we work hard to keep opportunities like this affordable and accessible for local young people, and it would be a real shame to lose a programme that has been running successfully for many years and has supported so many young people creatively and socially over time.

If you enjoy the sessions, please do help us by spreading the word, bringing a friend along, or sharing the programme with anyone who may be interested. Every participant genuinely helps support the future of the project.

Whether you come to one session or all of them, your support really does make a difference, and we hope to welcome lots of familiar and new faces this half-term.
