Students will be assessed twice a year, across their subjects, in a focussed assessment cycle.

Will these assessments happen in all subjects?
Students will be assessed in Geography, History, MFL, Computing, RS, English Science and Maths. 

When will the assessments take place?
Assessments will take place across a two-week period starting on 12th January 2026. Each subject will complete one in-class assessment within this window.

How can students find out what to revise?
Students will be informed what broader topics the assessment will cover by their class teacher. To revise for these assessments, students can use their exercise book plus any other material supplied by their class teacher.

What happens if a student misses an assessment?
If a student misses an assessment, they will need to catch this up. The class teacher will arrange an opportunity to complete the assessment shortly after the planned date. If the assessment cannot be completed before the data collection deadline, the student will not receive a percentage score. This will affect their subject and school ranking, just as missing an exam would do in Year 11. Parents/carers of any student in this position will be contacted before progress reports are released.
